Health Literacy in the Time of COVID-19
This video features an eight-minute recorded Zoom presentation by Dr. Iris Feinberg for the Institute of Healthcare Advancement (IHA) that highlights the “Answers to Coronavirus Questions” flipbooks.
The recording – also known as a “lightning talk” – was sent out to all the participants as a “teaser” before the conference, which hosts approximately 1,000 participants.
As the video explains, health literacy refers to the gap between how individuals understand health information and how those who provide that information deliver it.
Please visit the Coronavirus Adult Literacy Resources webpage for high interest and low adult literacy coronavirus materials (categorized into easier to read materials and harder to read materials) to learn more.

World Health Organization (WHO) - Health Alerts via WhatsApp
The World Health Organization (WHO) has partnered with Facebook and WhatsApp to teach individuals how to remain safe from COVID-19 (coronavirus). WHO can send information directly to the people who need it by utilizing an easy-to-use messaging service, which can reach up to two billion people. Anyone can benefit from this service, including government leaders, healthcare works, family and friends, to learn about the latest news and information on COVID-19 (coronavirus). From details on symptoms and how people can protect themselves and others from COVID-19 (coronavirus) to situation reports and numbers in real-time, this partnership can help government leaders and healthcare workers alike make decisions that improve and protect the health of their populations.
