Health Information Toolkit
The Refugee and Immigrant Health Information Toolkit was developed to address the lack of culturally and linguistically comprehensive health material that appropriately caters to the cultural beliefs and language needs of Clarkston residents. This project was collaboratively funded by the Georgia Health Foundation, the Adult Literacy Research Center (College of Education and Human Resources), Center for Community Engagement (Clarkston Perimeter campus) and the Prevention Research Center.
The HIT includes culturally and linguistically appropriate information on diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and a balanced diet. It also includes health literate and language concordant instructions for the 10 most common medications prescribed by our clinic partners, Ethne Health and Grace Village Medical Clinic. All materials are available for download or viewing.
